To use Simple Mass Downloader in desktop Chrome, open a page with file links, choose a resource type, and click Scan this page. Filter the results, select what you want, choose how to save, then click Start download. You can try all three save modes with your initial 300 credits, without an account.
Start with our three small sample files, or a page containing public PDFs or images you have permission to save. A small first batch helps you check the result before collecting a larger set.
Install Simple Mass Downloader
Open the Simple Mass Downloader listing by ProductivityImprover. Choose Add to Chrome and review the requested permissions. Then open Chrome’s Extensions menu and pin the extension.
Use desktop Chrome. Do not test scanning on the Chrome Web Store or a browser settings page: Chrome restricts extensions from reading those pages.
Choose a type, then scan
Open your source page and click the extension icon. Select Images, PDF, Documents, Video, Audio or All resources. Choosing the type does not start the scan. Click Scan this page after making your choice.
The Dashboard opens for that operation. A new scan does not automatically mix in files from previous pages. If you want resources from several pages together, use the explicit multi-tab workflow.
A page can contain direct file links, links to other pages and images embedded in its layout. Finding a URL does not guarantee that it points to the file you expected. Review the results before selecting everything.

Review the useful files
Use Category, Domain, or the Ext. header to narrow the list. Search matches the URL and Text columns only. Choose the Images category to make Gallery available, then use minimum dimensions to exclude small icons and thumbnails.
Select the matching resources and check the selected count. If no matches remain, loosen one filter at a time. An empty filtered view is different from a scan that collected nothing.
For example, on a course page with ten handouts and several decorative images, choose PDF, search for the course identifier if it appears in the URL or link text, and select the intended handouts. Search does not read the contents of a PDF.
Pick the destination
Choose Default Download Folder for separate files managed by Chrome, ZIP archive for one package, or Choose a folder to pick a destination yourself. All three use the same selection and credit rules. Keep the Dashboard open when writing directly to a chosen folder.
Before starting, review generated names and destinations. For standard downloads, Chrome’s “Ask where to save each file before downloading” setting can interrupt a batch with repeated dialogs. Adjust that setting only if you are comfortable with automatic saving to the configured destination. Chrome’s download help explains the setting.
Keep Chrome running. Standard and ZIP tasks can continue after the Dashboard closes; direct-folder saving requires it to stay open.
Check the result and your credits
Follow the progress beneath Start download and open Details for individual results. Automatic retries and completion checks help recover failures and detect incomplete transfers. Open a saved sample to check that the website supplied the content you expected.
You start with 300 free credits, without an account. Successfully saved files consume credits; scans and unsuccessful attempts do not. ZIP counts the files successfully saved in the archive. Canceling stops remaining work but does not undo credits for files already saved.
If something fails, keep the successful files and investigate the failed items before retrying. The troubleshooting guide separates scan problems from permission, quota and transfer failures.
A useful first-batch checklist
- Check the source page and your access to its files.
- Choose a resource type and click Scan this page.
- Apply one or two meaningful filters.
- Review the selected count and naming preview.
- Choose a save method and keep the necessary browser window open.
- Inspect a saved file and review any failures.
Once this small batch works, move on to PDF collections, image selection or a prepared URL list. Check pricing and credit rules before planning a larger job.
